This 1-liter stein is the Official Oktoberfest stoneware beer stein that is created yearly for the Munich Oktoberfest. Sadly, the Oktoberfest festival grounds in Munich were quiet in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Oktoberfest 2020 would have been held from 9/19/2020 – 10/04/2020, however can still be remembered at home with your own official mug or stein.

The Oktoberfest collector’s stein remains true to the simple shape which has stayed unchanged for over a century. A finished mug has gone through many hands and production steps. The high-quality finish, evinced by many fine details, makes the official Oktoberfest mug a valuable example of a traditional handcraft. The mug is produced by the firm of Rastal, based in Höhr-Grenzhausen, which still today fulfills orders for stoneware and pewter articles in the tradition of the master craftsmanship of the “Kannenbäckerland”.

The 2020 Oktoberfest at Home Official Stein will be the rarest piece in any official Oktoberfest collection as only 25% of the normal quantity was produced. 

We were recently able to source a very limited quantity of new stock from Germany and the price of these much sought after mugs & steins reflects the great expense incurred to acquire them.

Each Official beer stein has a copy of the artist’s signature on the bottom and a relief decorated domed pewter lid. Comes with a certificate of authenticity and gift box.

The lid features Mrs. Eichelsdörfer, who operated a vaudeville show/booth at the Oktoberfest Festival ground for many decades.
